Popeyes chooses APPLE TREE’s new thinking for its expansion in Spain

Popeyes®, the chicken restaurant brand owned by Restaurant Brands Iberia, has chosen APPLE TREE as its strategic communications agency for the Spanish market.

The agency will support Popeyes® in its expansion plans in Spain, providing strategic advice and helping the brand connect with its consumers through product communication and public relations campaigns.

Popeyes® landed in Spain in 2019 and has quickly grown to be the country with the third largest number of restaurants worldwide after the United States and Turkey. It closed last year with 82 restaurants in Spain and revenues in excess of 60 million euros.

APPLE TREE’s work will focus on supporting Popeyes® in its strategy to reach 200 restaurants in Spain by 2024. The agency will also work to position Popeyes® as a benchmark in the restaurant industry thanks to its commitment to fresh, 100% Spanish chicken with animal welfare certification.

One of Popeyes®’s differential points is its commitment to local products and its adaptation of its product offer to the tastes of Spanish consumers with its grilled chicken. In this sense, the brand’s communication will also adapt to the trends and ways of relating to local audiences with its communication campaigns.
